More than 10,000 people have signed a petition to make in-class learning optional for September. The move came forward within a week since BC’s Education Minister Rob Fleming and Provincial Health Officer Dr. Bonnie Henry announced enhanced safety measures and resources to enable most students in grades K-12 to return to school last Wednesday.

BC’s top health officials announced 146 COVID-19 cases in an update after the BC long weekend. There were no new deaths reported for the period.
