Punjabi Man Fatally Stabbed Near White Rock Pier

A Punjabi man was fatally stabbed near White Rock Pier last night. The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Kulwinder Sohi, Kulwinder’s friends spoke to RED FM’s Harpreet Singh about the tragic incident. 

Sohi’s death came just two days after another stabbing in White Rock. On Sunday, April 21, Manpreet Kaur, and her husband Jatinder Singh were spending what was supposed to be a relaxing night on the White Rock Pier when the 28-year-old man was stabbed in the neck from behind. Kaur reported the suspect was a stranger and that the attack was unprovoked. According to the White Rock RCMP, the stabbing was reported around 9 p.m.

In both cases, similar suspect descriptions have been provided. The suspect is described as a Black man who is about 5’11”. However, in a news conference Wednesday afternoon, the RCMP said it could not confirm if the two stabbings were related. 

IHIT has taken conduct of the homicide investigation.
