BC Sets New Heat Records as BC Hydro demand spikes

More than 20 daily temperature records fell in B-C yesterday, and the province is one of several sweltering under Environment Canada heat warnings today.

BC’s southern Interior Temperatures are forecast to climb into the low 40s.

Some parts of Alberta will also see highs of about 35 by Wednesday, and the tiny community of Fort Liard, in the southwestern corner of the Northwest Territories, is forecast to hit 30 Celsius by mid-week.

Heat warnings are blanketing much of Atlantic Canada, with humidex readings close to 40 expected today in New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
