The city of Surrey is encouraging residents to help water 86 thousand street trees as the summer drought continues.
The city says watering trees during dry weather is important to their survival.
The city says staff will provide interested residents with watering buckets that have pre-drilled holes.
It says trees benefit most from slow watering, allowing their roots to absorb water quickly. People can help by using a soaker hose or a large bucket with small holes drilled in the bottom.
