Vancouver International Airport (YVR) says operations have resumed at the domestic terminal after an evacuation earlier Wednesday, prompted by “reports of a strong gas smell” shortly after 1 p.m.
YVR confirmed that RCMP and Richmond Fire and Rescue crews responded quickly, identifying and containing the source of the odor. “There could be some minor flight delays as the influx of passengers is processed,” the airport said in a statement.

Passengers are advised to check with their airline before traveling to the airport. According to a YVR shuttle bus driver, all staff and passengers at the domestic terminal were asked to evacuate the building.
