Yogurt brand Yoplait has issued a recall for several of its products in Canada due to the possible presence of plastic pieces, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) says.
“This voluntary recall is being carried out as a precaution due to a potential defect in a packaging component that may result in plastic fragments in the product,” the company wrote on its website.
The recall affects all flavours of Yoplait YOP 200 ml drinkable yogurts, including blueberry, strawberry, strawberry-banana, birthday cake, vanilla, banana, raspberry, peach, yuzu mandarin, tropical, blackberry starfruit, lactose-free strawberry-raspberry, and lactose-free mango.
It also applies to multi-packs containing the 200 ml YOP drinkable yogurts, such as the 15-pack of strawberry, vanilla and strawberry-banana; the six-pack of strawberry; the six-pack of strawberry-banana; the 12-pack of strawberry-banana, blueberry, strawberry and raspberry; and the 12-pack of strawberry and vanilla.
All best-before dates up to Jan. 12, 2026, are included in the recall, according to the CFIA.
No other Yoplait products sold in Canada are affected.
The CFIA says there have been no reported injuries connected to the recalled items, and the products are being removed from store shelves.
The agency is urging consumers to check whether they have any of the affected items and not to consume, sell or distribute them. It advises customers to either throw the products out or return them to the place of purchase.
The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which could result in additional recalls.
