VICTORIA, BC – A woman was arrested on June 26 in the 900-block of Johnson Street as part of a successful drug trafficking investigation by VicPD’s Strike Force unit. Authorities seized a substantial quantity of illicit drugs, including one kilogram of cocaine, one kilogram of methamphetamine, and half a kilogram of fentanyl, along with $7,500 in cash and a Ford Mustang EV.
The Strike Force unit initiated this drug trafficking investigation earlier in the month. Through a combination of covert surveillance and intelligence gathering, officers successfully identified a female suspect involved in distributing controlled substances throughout the Capital Regional District (CRD). On June 26, just before 1:30 p.m., officers, with assistance from the Greater Victoria Emergency Response Team (GVERT), executed a search warrant and apprehended the suspect at a residence on Johnson Street.
The ongoing investigation also led to the seizure of the Mustang EV, which police say was used in the commission of the offense and is now subject to civil forfeiture proceedings.
“This seizure sends a clear message that we will continue to target drug trafficking, protect our communities, and hold offenders accountable,” said Deputy Chief Jamie McRae. “The significant quantity of drugs seized highlights the dangers of this illicit activity and demonstrates our Strike Force unit’s ongoing commitment to disrupting it.”
