Woman arrested following homicide in Campbell River

Police have confirmed that a suspect has been arrested following a fatal stabbing incident in Campbell River.

According to the police, on October 12th, at approximately 2:00 a.m., Campbell River RCMP responded to a report of a possible stabbing in the 1300 block of Dogwood Street in downtown Campbell River.

Police stated that an officer from the Campbell River Crime Prevention Unit identified and apprehended a 29-year-old suspect who was fleeing the area. Two other officers who arrived immediately attempted to save the 30-year-old female victim, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that charges of Second Degree Murder have been approved against 29-year-old Pauline Bruce, who remains in police custody.
