Vancouver Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating 43-year-old Omid Mashinchi and 40-year-old Amir Navarchi, both wanted nationwide in connection with a major drug trafficking investigation.
Project Torque, launched in November 2021, targeted a kilogram-level drug trafficking operation based in Vancouver with both domestic and international connections.
After a three-year investigation, six individuals—including Mashinchi and Navarchi—were arrested and charged. Authorities seized over 200 kilograms of hard drugs valued at approximately $16 million, along with seven firearms, and $500,000 in cash and jewelry. All six suspects were released pending the ongoing investigation.
In June 2024, BC Prosecution Services approved the charges, and four of the six suspects have since been located and arrested. Mashinchi and Navarchi remain at large and are facing the following charges:
Omid Mashinchi:
- One count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
- One count of possession for the purpose of trafficking
- Two counts of possession of a firearm
Amir Navarchi:
- One count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence
Mashinchi is 5’7”, 165 pounds, with a medium build, a shaved head, and wears eyeglasses.
Navarchi is 5’7”, 190 pounds, with a heavy build and short hair.
