A 34-year-old man, Sanket Sanjay Karve, has been charged with one count of assault causing bodily harm after allegedly attacking a woman in an apartment hallway last week in Vancouver’s Oakridge neighbourhood.
Vancouver Police responded around 9 a.m. on January 8 to a building near West 41st Avenue and Ash Street following a 9-1-1 call reporting the assault. Neighbors, who heard the commotion, held the suspect until officers arrived.
The victim, a woman in her 60s, was hospitalized. Investigators say the two individuals did not know each other.
