Vancouver International Airport (YVR) announced that its operations have returned to normal after experiencing significant delays and cancellations on Tuesday due to a staffing shortfall at NAV CANADA, the country’s air navigation service provider.
The airport had previously reported major disruptions, citing “staffing constraints” at the provider. However, an update posted on the airport’s X account confirmed that the flow of aircraft is now back to normal.
According to the airport’s website, there were no cancelled arrivals this morning, though eight flights from U.S. airports were delayed by nine hours or more. Additionally, eight departures were cancelled this morning, with the last cancellation occurring at 9 a.m.
The airport anticipates that most flights for the remainder of the day will depart on time, with only a few minor delays expected.
