Over the past two days, two pedestrians have been struck and killed by vehicles in two separate accidents in Vancouver.

On Sunday morning, a woman in her 30s was crossing East Hastings and Commercial Drive from the north side when she was hit by the driver of a Toyota Sienna. Despite attempts by paramedics to save her, the woman died at the scene. The driver remained on-site.

In another incident on Monday morning, an 81-year-old man was fatally struck by a vehicle while crossing Southeast Marine Drive. According to the Vancouver Police Department, the man was crossing near the Borden Street intersection around 4:30 a.m. when he was hit by a westbound Audi Q3.

The driver of the Audi also remained at the scene. Authorities do not believe speed or impairment were contributing factors in the collision.
