A devastating fire in North Surrey claimed the lives of two individuals late Sunday night, local authorities have confirmed.
Emergency crews from the Surrey Police Service (SPS) and Surrey Fire Services (SFS) rushed to the scene after receiving reports of a fast-moving blaze. The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 PM on Sunday in the 12200-block of 102 Avenue.
Upon arrival, first responders found a recreational vehicle (RV) fully engulfed in flames. Due to the intensity of the fire and the risk of it spreading, neighboring residents were immediately evacuated as a safety precaution.
Police stated that once fire crews managed to suppress the flames, they discovered the bodies of two individuals inside the RV. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators from both the Surrey Police Service (SPS) and Surrey Fire Services (SFS) are scheduled to conduct a detailed forensic examination today to determine the exact cause of the fire. At this time, the identities of the deceased have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
