Three people were shot in an apparent road rage incident involving a white Tesla Model 3 in Surrey early Tuesday morning.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating the incident, which occurred around 1 a.m. on 84 Avenue near 140 Street. Police reported that the Tesla, with an unknown Ontario license plate and occupied by three individuals, pulled alongside another car and fired “numerous shots” before the suspects fled.

Authorities stated that the four occupants of the vehicle that was shot made their way to the SPS District 3 office after the incident. BCEHS ambulance personnel were called to the scene and treated three of the four men for what police described as non-life-threatening injuries related to gunshot wounds. These individuals were subsequently transported to the hospital in stable condition.

The SPS Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation, and police confirm that the victims are cooperating with investigators. While the motive for the shooting is still under investigation, police indicate it appears to be linked to a “road rage incident.”

The suspects in the Tesla are described as three South Asian males, but no further description is currently available.
