Police have arrested three individuals during searches of Surrey homes, where they recovered more than 700 pieces of mail believed to have been stolen from a residential building in Port Moody.

In late July, the Port Moody Police Department (PMPD) requested the public’s assistance in identifying three people accused of breaking into the Suter Brook Village residential building on July 11. CCTV footage reportedly showed them prying open mailboxes and “making off with mail.” The trio was also suspected of a series of break-ins in storage lockers and vehicles within the same building.

On August 28, the PMPD executed search warrants at two residences in Surrey.

“During the search, officers seized about 730 parcels, packages, and pieces of mail destined for Port Moody and other local areas,” police said in a statement released Thursday. In addition to the mail, officers also confiscated numerous other items, including building fobs, keys, security passes, jewelry, and a firefighter badge.
