Trial dates have been set for a man accused of killing a woman in her Surrey home last year.
Adam Mann, 41 at the time of his arrest, is scheduled for a jury trial on a charge of second-degree murder beginning October 5, 2026.
Police say 30-year-old Tori Dunn was found with life-threatening injuries inside a home on 182A Street in Surrey’s Port Kells neighbourhood around 10 p.m. on June 16, 2024. She was rushed to hospital, where she later died.
Mann was arrested near the scene that night and formally charged on June 28, 2024.
Dunn’s father, Aron, expressed frustration over the long wait for trial. “I’m very frustrated with the time it takes for justice,” he told CTV News. “I’m not sure if it’s a lack of judges or prosecutors, but it certainly feels unfair to the family and others going through similar situations.”
The Supreme Court of Canada has set timelines for criminal trials, expecting cases in B.C. Supreme Court to conclude within 30 months of charges being laid. If Mann’s trial proceeds as scheduled, it will conclude about a month before that deadline.
