Surrey police has identified the alleged sexual assault suspect

Updated:Surrey Police Service (SPS) is advising the public that the man who was the subject of a public appeal in an alleged sexual assault that occurred on August 26, 2025, has now been identified by police. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.

Background

Surrey police had appealed to the public for information following an alleged sexual assault that occurred early Tuesday morning.

In a statement released on Wednesday, the Surrey Police Service (SPS) said the incident took place around 3:10 a.m. in the 9800 block of King George Boulevard. A woman was walking toward a bus stop when a man approached her and asked to use her phone. When she refused, he allegedly pushed her into a bush and sexually assaulted her.

The woman fought off her attacker, who then fled northbound, police said. She sustained minor injuries as a result of the incident.

Police have described the suspect as a “tall and skinny South Asian male” with black hair. He was wearing a black T-shirt, maroon shorts, and black-and-white shoes.
