SURREY, B.C. – Starting this Saturday, July 12, TransLink is advising SkyTrain passengers traveling from three Surrey stations to anticipate an extra 15 minutes of travel time.
TransLink announced that until the end of August, riders using the Gateway, Surrey Central, and King George stations will experience longer wait times and reduced service. Specifically, those heading to King George Station will need to transfer trains at Surrey Central Station on platforms 1 or 2.
The changes are due to TransLink closing one side of the track near Gateway Station to replace a switch track, which allows trains to change directions. This closure will limit the number of trains serving the three affected stations, leading to increased wait times.
Passengers using the Expo Line between Waterfront and Scott Road, Braid, or Production Way-University stations will not experience any changes to their service.
TransLink encourages customers to check the “next-train screens” at stations to ensure they board the correct train.
