Shots fired at business in Surrey’s York Business Centre, police suspect extortion

In yet another targeted shooting linked to suspected extortion, shots were fired a business in Surrey’s York Business Centre.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) is investigating a shooting that took place at a business sometime between Saturday, August 23, and Monday morning.

“On August 25, shortly after 9:30 a.m., SPS officers responded to a call regarding a possible mischief or attempted break-in at a business in the 12800 block of 80 Avenue. Upon arrival, they found that the damage to the business’s door was from several gunshots fired from outside. Officers checked the business and its neighbours, and confirmed no one was injured,” SPS said in a statement.

As per information, “Sidhu Travel -Bestway Foreign Exchange was targeted in the incident.

The SPS Frontline Investigative Support (FLIS) Team has taken over the investigation. Authorities are still on the scene collecting evidence and are canvassing the area for any CCTV footage. At this early stage, investigators believe the incident may be related to extortion.
