Shooting targets occupants of vehicle outside Surrey business

The police report that people sitting in a vehicle parked outside a business in Surrey were shot at early yesterday morning.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) stated that officers received reports of shots fired in the area of King George Boulevard and 81 Avenue at approximately 12:55 a.m. Sunday.

SPS members attended the scene and found damage to a business, which appeared to have been caused by bullets. The investigation revealed that a suspect fired shots at the victims, who were inside a vehicle parked in front of the business. Subsequently, both the suspect and the victims fled the scene in their respective vehicles.

Members of the SPS Frontline Investigative Support Team (FLIST) have attended the scene and are leading the investigation. A team from the Integrated Forensic Identification Service (IFIS) also attended to assist with gathering evidence.

Police say the motive behind the incident is still under investigation, but currently, no connection has been established with any extortion investigation.

The suspect vehicle has been described as a white, newer model, four-door sedan.
