Chilling surveillance footage captured the moment a masked gunman shot a 68-year-old man outside his Abbotsford, B.C., home Monday morning.

On Tuesday, homicide investigators identified the victim as Darshan Sahsi, though a clear motive has not yet been established. CCTV video provided to CTV News shows Sahsi entering his pickup truck when a masked man in black exits a silver sedan parked across the street and approaches the driver’s side window. The gunman fires at least nine rounds through the closed window, shattering it, before fleeing in the sedan — the entire attack lasting less than 15 seconds.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) confirmed the shooting on Ridgeview Drive was reported at 9:22 a.m. “Early indications suggest this was a targeted incident, and no one else was injured,” IHIT stated. Investigators are working to determine the motive and circumstances surrounding the killing.

IHIT also released a CCTV image of a silver Toyota Corolla believed to be involved and is asking the public to help identify its occupant. They requested anyone with dash-cam footage from the 31300 block of Ridgeview Drive between 7 and 10 a.m. Monday to contact them at 1-877-551-4448 or ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca
