Police in Saint John, N.B., are investigating sexual offences at Loch Lomond Villa, a nursing home, with at least 12 victims identified, all aged between their 70s and 90s. Authorities say more victims may come forward.

The investigation began after the long-term care facility reported the situation last week, and families of affected residents have been notified. Police have identified a suspect who is neither a resident nor an employee of the facility, though no charges have been announced.

The nursing home has added on-site security and is reviewing safety procedures. Police established a dedicated phone line for families and are asking anyone with information to come forward. New Brunswick Health Minister John Dornan confirmed that residents are safe and not at risk of further harm.
