Remembering the South-Asian Pioneer Charanpal Gill | ਭਾਰਤੀ ਭਾਈਚਾਰੇ ਦਾ ਘੁਲਾਟੀਆ ਚਰਨਪਾਲ ਗਿੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਰਿਹਾ

Charanpal Gill will be remembered as a pillar of B.C.’s South Asian community as he was deeply involved in human rights and labour movements. He has passed away at the age of 84 peacefully at Langley Memorial Hospital with his family by his side after a long battle with cancer. Upon moving to Surrey in 1973, while continuing his social work, Gill helped found the Farm Workers Organizing Committee and later the Canadian Farmworkers Union in 1980. Harjinder Thind remembers him as he talks with BC’s Speaker Hon. Raj Chouhan, PICS CEO Satbir Cheema, community leaders Sarwan Randhawa and Dr. Gulzar Cheema.
