Eminent Punjabi writer, novelist and Sahitya Akademi Awardee, Jaswant Singh Kanwal, known as the ‘writer of movements’, penned nearly 80 books and novels. He received the Sahitya Akademi Award for his novel ‘Taushali Di Hanso’ in 1997. He died at his house in Dhudike village in Moga district in Punjab after a brief illness. He was 101. ਇੱਕ ਨਾਵਲਕਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਸਾਹਿਤ ਵਿੱਚ ‘ਬਾਬਾ ਬੋਹੜ’ ਵਜੋਂ ਜਾਣੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਵਲ ਦਾ 101 ਸਾਲਾਂ ਦੀ ਉਮਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੇਹਾਂਤ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ। ਜਸਵੰਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਕੰਵਲ, ਮੋਗਾ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਢੁੱਡੀਕੇ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਣ ਵਾਲੇ, 100 ਸਾਲ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੰਦਰੁਸਤ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਜੀਉਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ, ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਨਾਵਲਾਂ ਲਿਖੀਆਂ, ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚੋਂ ‘ਲਹੂ ਕੀ ਲੋ’, ‘ਰਾਤ ਬਾਕੀ ਹੈ’, ‘ਪੂਰਨਮਾਸੀ’ ਅਤੇ ‘ਸਾਡੇ ਦੋਸਤ-ਸਾਡੇ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ’ ਮਸ਼ਹੂਰ ਸਨ। ਹਰਜਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਥਿੰਦ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਯਾਦ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ।
