RED FM Gurpurab Radiothon 2020

We thank you for your support.

This year’s RED FM Gurpurab Radiothon will be held on November 30th, 2020, from 7 AM to 7 PM to raise funds for critical, life-saving healthcare in Surrey.

The first $165,000 collected will go to the BC Cancer Foundation to advance and expand cancer care at the new Dukh Nivaran Pharmacy in BC Cancer Surrey. Cancer cases are increasing, and patients need support now more than ever. Your donations will help advance innovative new treatment options that give hope to the thousands of people who face cancer each year.

Once the $165,000 goal for BC Cancer Foundation is reached, all donations will go to Surrey Hospitals Foundation to support their COVID-19 Response Fund. This fund supports lifesaving equipment for the critical care teams, comfort items for patients, as well as research studies around treatment and rehabilitation of COVID-19 patients.

Only RED FM Team members will be working at the radio station during this year’s Radiothon.

How SHF Will Use Your Donations:

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit B.C., Surrey Memorial Hospital quickly became one of the busiest COVID-19 treatment centres in Canada. In turn, Surrey Hospitals Foundation became a bridge between the community and its health care facilities, thereby enabling the community to become a critical partner in what would become a united stance against the pandemic.

Surrey Hospitals Foundation will use the proceeds from the Radiothon designated for SHF towards the COVID-19 Response Fund – to purchase life-saving equipment, support important research studies, provide patient and staff comfort items, and capital improvements for COVID-19 related needs at Surrey Memorial Hospital. How BCCF Will Use Your Donations:

Over the next decade, the Fraser Valley will see the most significant increase in cancer diagnoses in the province with a 65% increase in patients by 2030. This year alone, 9,895 Fraser Valley residents will be diagnosed with cancer.

Patients need your support now, more than ever. Funds raised will support critical expansion needs at BC Cancer – Surrey where the Dukh Nivaran pharmacy is at the heart of innovative, life-saving new treatments for patients. The highly customized chemotherapy and targeted cancer treatments developed at the pharmacy give patients and families hope. 100% of the funds raised on November 30 through the Gurpurab Radiothon on RED FM will fund life-saving innovations to cancer care.
