Vancouver Coastal Health is warning that patrons of a Gibsons food truck may have been exposed to hepatitis A this month.

According to the health authority, anyone who ate at the Sea Monkey Coffee truck located at Sunday Cider on the Sunshine Coast Highway between August 1 and August 25 should monitor themselves for symptoms.

The warning applies only to customers who consumed food from the truck, not to those who were at other businesses on the site or who only had drinks.

The health authority says that vaccination can prevent infection. Symptoms of hepatitis A include fatigue, loss of appetite, unexplained weight loss, pain under the rib cage, muscle soreness, or yellowing of the skin or eyes.
