Police are appealing to the public for witness accounts and video footage of a crash that killed two people and injured four others on Highway 1 near Lytton last week.
In a statement released Tuesday, Lytton RCMP said officers were called to a section of the highway near Spences Bridge on August 14 at around 5 p.m. A southbound SUV had reportedly crossed the centerline and collided with a northbound pickup truck.
An adult woman from the SUV and a man from the pickup truck died at the scene. According to police, the drivers of both vehicles and two passengers in the SUV suffered “various injuries.”
“This remains an active and ongoing investigation, and we’re hoping to speak with anyone who witnessed the crash or may have in-car video,” said Sergeant Kris Clark.
