Surrey Police are actively searching for a suspect accused of the sexual assault of a 10-year-old girl in Newton two months ago. The incident occurred on September 17 at approximately 7:15 p.m. at a business in the 7100 block of 138 Street.
According to a statement released by the Surrey Police Service on Friday, “A male approached the girl, touched her private parts, and then fled the scene.” The police have since released a photograph of the suspect to aid in their investigation.
The suspect is described as a man in his 20s to 30s with a height of 5’9”. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a blue long-sleeved shirt, a light-coloured hat, a cross-body bag, and headphones. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incident to contact the Surrey Police Service.
