Police in New Westminster are investigating after two individuals, partially covered with white sheets, burglarized a seniors’ care facility earlier this month.

On Aug. 9, staff at the Colborne Street facility near Clute Street reported the overnight theft of electronic equipment. CCTV footage shows the two suspects, inconsistently wearing white sheets over their heads, struggling to move the items on a wheelchair and a trolley through the front door.

Police say many of the stolen items have been recovered, but they are now seeking help to identify the suspects.

The first suspect is described as a man in his 30s with brown shaved hair and a tattoo sleeve on his right forearm. He was wearing a blue shirt, grey shorts, brown sandals, and carrying a red and black Toronto Raptors backpack.

The second suspect is described as a woman in her 30s with shoulder-length blonde hair. She was wearing black and white wedge sneakers, a green Adidas ball cap, a grey patterned top, a pleated mini skirt, a black cross-body purse, and glasses.

“These seniors use this equipment to make music together,” said Communications Officer Hailey Finnigan.

Anyone who recognizes the suspects is asked to contact the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411.
