Over 100 people displaced, multiple units damaged after fire at Guildford’s apartment building

More than 50 firefighters responded to a four-storey apartment building fire on Sunday evening at 7:30 pm located on 152 street and 101 avenue in Surrey’s Guildford neighbourhood. 

According to Jerry Siggs, assistant fire chief with the Surrey Fire Service, crews arrived to find heavy flames coming from the second floor, extending upward toward the third and fourth floors, and spreading to the roof. 

Siggs added that there’s heavy fire damage from floors two to four and through the roof structure. More than 100 people are displaced. All residents had evacuated by the time fire crews arrived, and no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
