Congress MP Partap Singh Bajwa wrote to DGP, Chandigarh, Sanjay Baniwal that in case of any harm to his family, the Punjab Chief Minister and Punjab DGP would be solely responsible. On August 9, the Punjab government had withdrawn the security cover provided to Bajwa saying he was not facing any threat. The decision came days after Partap Singh Bajwa along with Shamsher Singh Dulo met Punjab Governor to demand CBI probe into the hooch tragedy deaths.
