No Tsunami risk to BC coast following 7.3 magnitude earthquake near Alaska

A large earthquake hit the Pacific Basin near Alaska at 1:38 pm today, July 16. The National Tsunami Earning Centre has advised that no zones of coastal British Columbia are at risk from this event.

The earthquake was recorded to be of 7.3 magnitude. Following the earthquake, tsunami warning is now in effect for south Alaska and the Alaska Peninsula.
