Prime Minister Mark Carney is scheduled to travel to France next week to meet with Ukraine’s key allies. The visit comes at a pivotal moment as international efforts to mediate an end to the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine reach a heightened state of urgency.

During his stay in Paris on Monday and Tuesday, Carney will convene with the “Coalition of the Willing.” The primary objective of these discussions is to advance diplomatic efforts toward a sustainable peace deal for Ukraine. The Prime Minister’s Office emphasized that Canada is working in close coordination with international partners to bolster Ukraine’s defense capabilities and ensure a strategic framework for the country’s long-term post-war recovery.

Parallel to these developments, U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that Ukraine and Russia are nearing a potential peace agreement. However, the President also cautioned that significant obstacles remain, which could still impede the finalization of a deal.
