Homicide investigators are leading an investigation after a man was found deceased following a house fire in Surrey’s Panorama Ridge neighbourhood early Monday.
Surrey Fire Services responded to reports of a fully engulfed home in the 12700 block of 56 Avenue shortly after 7 am on January 12, 2026. After crews gained access to the residence and searched for occupants, they located the body of an adult man inside the home.
The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has not confirmed the identity of the victim. However, sources have told RED FM that the deceased is member of Brothers Keeper gang Naseem Mohammed.
Investigators are working to determine both the cause of death and the origin of the fire, neither of which has yet been established. Police are also examining a vehicle fire reported later the same day near Redwood Park in the 17900 block of 20 Avenue in Surrey. Investigators believe that incident may be connected to the house fire and are seeking dashcam or CCTV footage from the area between 9 pm and 11 pm. Anyone with information or video footage from the area of the house fire in the 12700 block of 56 Avenue between 5 am and 7 am on January 12 is asked to contact the IHIT information line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or email ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
