An man has been shot and killed at a residential building in Abbotsford, B.C., and a suspect has been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to the Abbotsford Police Department, officers were called to an apartment building on the 30400 block of Cardinal Avenue near Mount Lehman Road at approximately 4 p.m. They found a deceased man inside a single unit. A male suspect was located at the scene, arrested, and remains in police custody.
Authorities stated that there is no active risk to public safety. The investigation has been handed over to the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team and is in its early stages.
Sergeant Paul Walker said on Monday evening, “Our main goal is to unravel the circumstances to determine exactly what happened.” He added that the incident “whatsoever” did not appear to be gang-related.
