A man has died after drowning in Cultus Lake on Thursday.

First responders were called to Entrance Bay at 12:42 p.m. after the man went underwater and did not resurface on August 28.

Crews initially planned to establish a landing zone at Cultus Lake Elementary School around 1:30 p.m., but it was canceled 10 minutes later. “The male victim was located by divers and life-saving measures were attempted; however, sadly, the victim has been confirmed deceased,” Sgt. Alexandra Mulvihill wrote in an email to The Chilliwack Progress
