FORT ST. JOHN, BC – A man has died following an assault in Fort St. John, with the RCMP now leading a major investigation
Police officials state that on Tuesday, June 24, at approximately 6:42 PM, Fort St. John RCMP received a report of an assault in the 9900-block of 99 Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found a person unresponsive. Despite life-saving measures, the individual was pronounced deceased.
The Fort St. John RCMP Serious Crime Unit has taken over the investigation and will be supported by the North District Major Crime Unit. The area surrounding the scene will be cordoned off for a significant period as police gather evidence. Since the investigation is in its early stages, no further information will be provided at this time.
Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance. Anyone with information or dash camera footage from the area is asked to contact Fort St. John RCMP.
