A 54-year-old man has been charged following a double homicide and a separate stabbing incident on Friday. Vancouver Police have identified the suspect as Viet Quy John Ly, who faces two counts of second-degree murder and one count of aggravated assault.
Police responded to reports of a stabbing in the city’s Joyce-Collingwood neighborhood Friday afternoon, where they found a 50-year-old woman with serious injuries inside an apartment building. Authorities later discovered two women dead in a separate building nearby and believe the crimes are connected.
The VPD has not released the ages of the two homicide victims, nor have they provided any information on the relationship, if any, between the suspect and the victims.
