A new survey by Nanos Research shows the federal Liberals have reached record-high support one year after Mark Carney became prime minister.
The latest ballot tracking puts the Liberals at 47.6 per cent, ahead of the Conservatives at 31.1 per cent and the NDP at 11.2 per cent.
Under leader Pierre Poilievre, the Conservatives once held a double-digit lead before last year’s federal election, prior to Carney replacing Justin Trudeau. However, they have trailed the Liberals for several months.
Nanos reports this is the highest level of support the Liberals have recorded in its tracking. In preferred prime minister polling, Carney is chosen by 56.5 per cent of Canadians, while Poilievre stands at 22 per cent.
The survey also finds that top concerns among Canadians remain jobs and the economy, along with relations involving U.S. President Donald Trump.
