A Surrey café associated with Bollywood celebrity Kapil Sharma has been shot at for the third time this year.
According to Surrey Police, officers responded to the 8400 block of 120 Street in the Newton neighbourhood around 3:45 a.m., discovering that the business had been struck by “numerous bullets.”
Although staff were inside at the time, no injuries were reported.
This latest attack follows two previous shootings at the café in August, occurring just weeks apart.
A video from the first incident in July, which circulated widely on social media, shows someone repeatedly firing a handgun at the establishment linked to Sharma, who is also an Indian comedian and TV host.
The incident drew attention from politicians, including Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke, who called on social media platforms to curb the spread of violent content.
The shooting is the most recent in a series of extortion-related attacks in Surrey and the Lower Mainland. Businesses in the Newton area, particularly those owned by South Asian residents, have frequently been targeted.
