The B.C. government has announced that Joffre Lakes Park will close for a month in about two weeks’ time. The closure will allow the park to “recover from a busy summer season” and provide space for First Nations to carry out cultural practices.
The government stated that the closure from September 2 to October 3 is also in recognition of the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and will be the last of three closures this year.
The park was also closed for three weeks starting April 25 and for two weeks in June.
