Environment Canada has issued a heavy rainfall warning for B.C.’s South Coast today, stating that two consecutive low-pressure systems are expected to bring more intense rain to the region.
Rainfall warnings have been posted for Howe Sound and northern Metro Vancouver, including areas like the North Shore, Coquitlam, and Maple Ridge.
The weather office anticipated that up to 70 millimetres of rain was expected in the region by this morning, with an additional 30 to 40 millimetres possible by tomorrow.
The public is being warned to allow for extra travel time, as water is likely to pool on roads and visibility may be suddenly reduced at times due to the intense weather.
