Health Canada has issued a recall for seven baby loungers, citing “ongoing incidents and safety concerns” and warning that such products pose serious risks to infants.

In a news release, the department emphasized that “the safest place for a baby to sleep is on their back, alone in a crib, cradle, or bassinet that complies with current Canadian safety regulations.” It added that it is running a sampling and evaluation program to assess these products.

So far, the recall covers several baby nests and loungers that fail to meet Canadian safety standards, including products sold under the brand names BChic and Chicure, FFQRLP Brand, HAPDEN Travel Portable Crib, Housbay, La Millou, Style Life Eleven, Zoomie Kids, and Vevor.

The items were sold through major online marketplaces such as Amazon, Walmart, AliExpress, Wayfair, and Vevor. Health Canada says the products pose multiple hazards, including risks of suffocation, strangulation, choking, entrapment, and falling.
