Canada likes to project itself as a racism-free country. But the ground reality seems to be different, as seen in the recent hate crime against a 21-year-old Sikh student in Kelowna. On the occasion of International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination on March 21, that student’s roommate, Harkaran, BC rights activist and One Voice Canada founder Dupinder Kaur Saran, BC Minister of Education and Child Care Rachna Singh, and World Sikh Organization spokesperson Gurpreet Kaur Rai joined us to talk about how racial discrimination looks like in Canada.
