Four individuals face 28 drug and gun charges in yearlong Burnaby RCMP investigation

Burnaby RCMP say two men and two women face a combined total of 28 drug- and gun-related charges following a yearlong investigation. Accused range from 21 to 24 years old.
Police executed search warrants in Delta, Langley, Vancouver and Burnaby, turning up nearly a kilogram of illicit fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine. Officers also seized a stolen and loaded handgun that had been modified to be automatic, as well as ammunition and a silencer.

On July 12, 2024, the Public Prosecution Service of Canada approved the following charges:

Farbn Marvin Japow (23 years old):

  • 5 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • 3 counts of trafficking in a controlled substance
  • 2 counts of possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count of possession of a loaded prohibited weapon

Sofiya Makhasher (23 years old):

  • 5 counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking
  • 2 counts of possession of a prohibited device
  • 1 count of possession of a loaded prohibited weapon

Ishpreet Kaur Mahil (21 years old):

  • 6 counts of trafficking in a controlled substance

Ulrich Munyangoga (24 years old):

  • 3 counts of trafficking in a controlled substance

A total of four Search Warrants were executed in Delta, Langley, Vancouver, and Burnaby. As a result of the investigation the following drugs were seized:

  • 250.86 grams of fentanyl
  • 181.78 grams of methamphetamine
  • 519.07 grams of cocaine
  • 28.35 grams of Nitazene,
  • A sheet of LSD tabs

Along with the above drugs, the following items of note were seized:

  • Over 1054.2 grams of phenacetin and other adulterants
  • $14,775.35 Canadian currency
  • Cellphones, scales and packaging materials
  • A radio jammer
  • A stolen and loaded Glock 17 handgun, modified to be discharged in fully automatic capacity
  • Ammunition
  • A firearms suppresser (commonly known as a silencer)
