Four charged in North Vancouver home invasion

Four men have been charged in connection with an alleged home invasion in North Vancouver on February 5. 

The Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team arrested the suspects as part of an investigation led by the Vancouver Police Department’s Major Crime Section. Police allege the men forcibly entered a residence near Dollar Road and Dollarton Highway and unlawfully confined a 45-year-old man, who was reportedly targeted. The victim was safely rescued and suffered minor injuries. 

During the incident, a nearby North Vancouver elementary school was placed on lockdown as a precaution. RCMP officers remain on scene to assist with the investigation. 

The accused—Harjot Singh Samra, 29; Gary Gurpreet Dhillon, 33; Sahajdeep Singh Khunkhun, 26; and Shane Aaron Naicker, 31—face charges including robbery with a firearm, break and enter, unlawful confinement, possession of a loaded restricted or prohibited firearm, and assault with a weapon. All remain in custody pending a bail hearing.
