On August 1, 2025, around midnight, officers with the New Westminster Police Department responded to a 911 call reporting a fight in the 800 block of Ewen Avenue in the Queensborough neighbourhood. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from apparent stab wounds. Officers administered emergency first aid to control bleeding before BC Emergency Health Services transported the victim to hospital.

The department’s Major Crime Unit led the investigation, gathering evidence over several months and obtaining multiple search warrants. Four individuals have since been arrested, and in February, charges were approved against each in connection with robbery, assault with a weapon, and aggravated assault.

Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the names of three of the accused cannot be released. An 18-year-old, Arman Rajani, has been identified and charged. Investigators are still working to determine whether there was any relationship between the suspects and the victim.

Police said the incident had raised concerns among residents in Queensborough, adding that investigators worked persistently to identify those responsible and move the case forward.

The New Westminster Police Department also acknowledged the assistance of the Vancouver Police Department, Surrey Police Service, and the Lower Mainland Integrated Emergency Response Team in the investigation.
