A home in South Surrey has been targeted by gunfire for the second time in less than a week in an incident confirmed to be related to Extortion.

The Surrey Police Service (SPS) and RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) have launched an investigation into the shots-fired incident that occurred Wednesday evening at a residence in the 17000 block of 32 Avenue in Surrey.

This is the same house that was targeted by gunfire last Saturday, an incident that reportedly left one person injured.

Police officials reported that the latest incident occurred on Wednesday evening at approximately 7:35 p.m.

RCMP officers responded immediately to calls reporting the potential shots-fired incident. Police confirmed that this is the second time the address has been targeted, and the incident is related to Extortion. However, no injuries resulted from this latest occurrence.

Significantly, as of November 10th this year, a total of 94 Extortion files have been reported—of which 43 involve shots-fired incidents—with 13 new cases opening just this month.
