Unifor says it has reached a tentative agreement with DHL Express Canada, potentially allowing the company to restart its operations.

The union says the agreement’s details will remain confidential until members vote on it, which is expected in the coming days. DHL Express Canada locked out employees on June 8 and temporarily suspended operations as of last Friday.

Unifor represents over 2,100 DHL workers, including truck drivers, couriers, warehouse staff, and clerical employees. The union and the company have clashed over the use of replacement workers, an issue that gained prominence as new federal legislation banning the practice came into effect during the work stoppage.

Jobs Minister Patty Hajdu said she met with both parties last week after DHL requested government intervention to compel a return to work.
