The Canadian Union of Postal Workers says it will hold two days of talks with Canada Post.
Representing about 55,000 postal workers, the union says both parties met with federal mediators on Tuesday and have agreed to meet again on Friday and Monday.
These discussions follow the union’s rejection of Canada Post’s latest offer, which included roughly a 13% wage increase over four years and a restructuring plan to add part-time positions.
The union says its nationwide overtime ban remains in place.
Negotiations for a new collective agreement have been ongoing for more than 18 months.
Canada Post says it looks forward to receiving a detailed and comprehensive response from the union on Friday that addresses the significant and growing challenges facing the postal service.
